As teardowns continue to get replaced by million dollar homes from North Hills to MacGregor Downs Country Club and new communities such as Avalaire and Bella Vista in north Raleigh put up 7,000-square-foot estates, longtime observers of residential real estate in the Triangle say one thing is certain: the surge shows just how high the Triangle’s reputation has risen. “It’s moving on up in the world,” Anfindsen says. “The natives are stunned when they see all the wealth that’s come here.”
