The first solution for homeowners looking to improve their residence isn’t typically a tear-down. Yet, there are instances where keeping an old home intact simply doesn’t make sense.

Even supposed luxury residences in upscale neighborhoods can be plagued with asbestos, mold, and other health hazards that can be more trouble than they’re worth. Sometimes poor quality remodeling updates negatively impact a home’s life expectancy and require a complete do-over.

Such was the case for this 0.85-acre Marlowe Road homesite in Raleigh. It originally featured a dilapidated ranch that was plagued with mold and asbestos. Last year our crews began deconstructing the structure since it was unfit for inhabitants.

We recycled the cabinetry and other woodwork, and saved the fireplace and chimney brick along with various iron, metal and stone materials.

The lot is now free from overgrowth and debris and clear of unhealthy vegetation. A newly constructed custom home is nearing the finishing stages. You can keep up-to-date on this project at our Facebook page.
