When this family envisioned their dream home, they knew it had to be energy-efficient, designed for multi-generational living, and accommodate their beloved rescue pets, all while bringing the beauty of nature indoors. In 2019, they began turning that vision into reality. After securing a 37-acre property with a pond near RDU airport, they sought the right builder, ultimately selecting Jon Rufty and his team based on glowing references and innovative ideas.

The couple had four main goals for their home: an animal-friendly design, a strong connection to nature, green energy features, and enhanced safety. The home was built with sustainability in mind, featuring solar panels, a green roof, and a geothermal system.
