We are thrilled to announce that Rufty Homes has been awarded the prestigious Gold prize at the 40th annual Best in American Living Awards, held on February 28, 2024. Our winning project, "An Artist's Vision Realized," triumphed in the category of "Remodeling: Addition, Indoor or Outdoor, Over $100,000."

This remarkable achievement celebrates the culmination of our client's dream – a dedicated art studio designed to ignite creativity and elevate her passion for painting. What began as a hobby blossomed into an artistic journey that demanded a space worthy of inspiration.

After having built the client's home back in 2019, we were honored to be asked back to complete this addition. Our client's vision was clear: a studio flooded with natural light to nurture her artistic endeavors. To achieve this, the studio was strategically positioned to face north, welcoming the gentle morning rays. Additionally, a south-facing window invites ample afternoon light, complemented by custom track lighting meticulously angled at 35 degrees to eliminate glare and shadows, ensuring the perfect canvas for her creations.

A defining feature of the studio is its soaring 22-foot vaulted ceiling, echoing the grandeur of the home. Painted in bold black, it serves as a dramatic contrast against the pristine white walls, enhancing the ambiance and minimizing glare – a testament to our commitment to both aesthetics and functionality.

Moreover, the seamless integration of finishes ensures a harmonious flow between the studio and the luxury home. Every detail, from the flooring to the fixtures, reflects our client's refined taste and dedication to creating a space that doubles as a gallery – a masterpiece in its own right.
