On Wednesday, March 18th, Rufty Homes welcomed over 100 of the area's top subcontractors to the Gov. James Martin Building for our annual Subcontractor Breakfast — and this year, we came with a message: Respect the Craft.
That phrase isn't just a tagline. It's a belief we try to live out on every job site, in every conversation, and in every decision we make as a builder. The tradespeople who frame our walls, run our electrical, set our tile, and finish our trim aren't just vendors or line items on a budget — they're craftspeople, and the quality of what we build starts with them.
From 7:30 to 9:30 AM, guests gathered for a full breakfast alongside raffle prizes and words of inspiration from the Rufty project management team. It's the kind of event that goes beyond the day-to-day of job sites and deadlines — a chance to look each other in the eye, share a meal, and be reminded of the shared commitment to quality that defines every Rufty build. The messages from our project managers centered on what it means to take real pride in your work: to show up, do it right, and hold the standard high even when no one's watching. It's the kind of thing that's easy to say and hard to do consistently, and our subs do it every day.
Respect the Craft is our way of putting that appreciation into words. We're proud to work alongside some of the finest subcontractors in the region, and mornings like this are our small way of saying thank you — and acknowledging the big role they play in the Rufty story.
