Jon is a forefather of green building in North Carolina. A 1977 graduate of N.C. State and recipient of the Poole College of Management Alumni Award, Jon built the nationally lauded HealthyHouse™ in 1994 for the American Lung Association and National Association of Home Builders Research Center, now the Home Innovation Research Labs. He's also responsible for the very first EnergyStar structure in our state, in cooperation with Carolina Power & Light (now Duke Energy Progress). And in 2002, he completed N.C.'s first Fortified For Safer Living® home.
That pioneering spirit has earned Jon recognition well beyond the job site. He is a member of the exclusive NAHB Builder 20 Club, consisting of the nation's most elite custom home builders, and has been named Home Builder of the Year numerous times by the Triangle Business Journal and the Home Builders Associations of Wake, Durham, Chatham and Orange counties. In 2019, Triangle Business Journal honored him as a CEO of the Year, and in 2025 he received the Icon Award at the Wake GPS Growth + Prosperity Summit, celebrating leaders who have made a lasting impact on Wake County's business community.
Jon has called Raleigh and Cary home for 38 years. He and his wife, Jackie, are the proud parents of five children and grandparents to eight.
